MBN / Pontianak – Supriadi was officially elected as the Chairman of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Ketapang Regency for the 2026-2029 period by acclamation at the formation meeting and Conference of the PWI Ketapang Regency at a hotel in Pontianak, Wednesday (12/8/2026).
In this process, Supriadi was appointed as chairman through the District Conference led by the Chair of the Session Yasmin Umar, with Muhammmad Al Jauhari Fatria and Hadi Sudirmansyah as members of the session.
The appointed formation team consists of Supriadi, Agustiandi, and Hadi Sudirmansah. This team will then be tasked with drafting the Ketapang Regency PWI management for the 2026-2029 period.
Supriadi said that this position is a mandate that must be carried out together with the management team.
“I would like to express my gratitude for the trust given to me. This is a trust we must fulfill,” said Supriadi.
He hopes that the West Kalimantan Provincial PWI can continue to accompany and provide direction to the Ketapang PWI management.
“We are also opening up space for all journalists working in Ketapang to join the PWI Regency’s large house,” he stressed.
After the management is formed, the party will prepare a number of work programs to strengthen the presence of PWI in Ketapang Regency.
“We will develop a work program. We will raise the PWI flag in Ketapang Regency,” he said.
The Chairman of the West Kalimantan PWI, Kundori, expressed his congratulations on the formation of the Ketapang Regency PWI management.
He said the formation process had been coordinated with the Central PWI and implemented in accordance with the organization’s Articles of Association.
According to Kundori, the formation of the Ketapang Regency PWI marks a new milestone in the organization’s history in West Kalimantan. Currently, the PWI has leadership positions in Ketapang and Sekadau Regencies.
“This marks a new milestone in West Kalimantan. PWI Regency chapters have been established in two regencies, Ketapang and Sekadau,” said Kundori.
He hopes that the PWI’s presence in Ketapang can develop and become a forum to encourage professional journalistic practices and adhere to a code of ethics.
Kundori reminded journalists not to spread information that does not meet journalistic principles.
“Practice proper journalism in Ketapang Regency. Don’t participate in spreading anything that isn’t journalism. We must all uphold ethical standards,” he said.
He also invited all members to maintain the organization’s dignity and carry out their profession as journalists professionally.
